The League Exists:
1. To provide
British Housewives with an effective voice in all matters concerning the
welfare of themselves and their families.
2. To give information and advice, so that housewives may take action
in matters that affect their interests.
3. To show that over-control by the State is not in the interests of a
free and happy home life and the development of personality in accord
with Christian tradition.
4. To encourage housewives to take their place as such, as M.Ps, and Local
Government Councillors, and representatives on other administrative bodies.
Immediate Aims:
1. An ample supply
of good food at a reasonable price, together with good houses and clothes
in order to maintain a decent and self-respecting standard of living.
2. The abolition of rationing and coupons and extra-national control (being
told what we are to eat, by other countries). These are a threat to the
freedom of the home. Rising prices are a form of rationing without the
use of coupons.
3. In the National Health Act, and all other such legislation, we are
opposed to the removal from the individual of his right to contract out.
The League is
Non-Party and Non-Sectarian, and no member shall attempt to use it for
the purpose of forwarding the interests of any Party or Sect.
The League upholds
the British Constitution; namely, the rule of the Queen, in and through
Parliament, (the Lords Spiritual, Lords Temporal and the Commons).
